TradeLog Tip: Brokerconnect Importing Problems

Each year during tax time the TradeLog support team sees reports of greater difficulty using brokerconnect for importing trade history from certain brokers. Oftentimes the problems are a result of heavy traffic on the broker’s servers or the size of the data download. Because of these reasons there may not be much that can be done to resolve the problem, other than to try again later. But here is a tip that may help you if you experience brokerconnect difficulty...

If brokerconnect does not work correctly for you, try the CSV or Web import method instead.

If you are trying to import the entire year of trade history you may even find a CSV import to be easier than brokerconnect! For instructions on these alternate import methods view our list of supported brokers online and click on your broker to view the specific importing instructions.

If you cannot import from your broker using any of the methods instructed, then submit a technical support request for the help you need. Remember to provide as much detail as you can regarding the problem you are having so we can provide the best help.
