Begin the tax year by creating a new data file:

Click on menu item File, New

Select a tax year from the drop down box or enter a tax year

Enter a descriptive name for your data file

Answer the two questions about your Mark to Market accounting status for the prior and current tax years
The program will then guide you through a series of prompts to determine if you used MTM accounting or cash basis accounting. The procedure is slightly different depending upon your accounting method. Please note that TradeLog MTM can be used to create data files that use MTM accounting as well as those that use cash basis accounting (non-MTM).
